Software first. Then guidance on the floor. Then robots.
This page is about direction, not products. Our focus today is sensors, data and apps. Here is where we think that work leads, and the order we plan to get there.
Three steps
- 1Now
Bud in the AiGrow app
Bud is the AI assistant in AiGrow. It helps growers complete tasks, run operations and track inventory, using the sensor data and records the app already holds. AiGrow is in development.
- 2Next
Augmented-reality guidance
Bring Bud's guidance to staff where the work happens: step-by-step tasks, alerts, checks and data capture in view, through a headset or a display built into PPE. This builds on our heads-up display research.
- 3Later
Robots directed from GrowLabs apps
Robots, including humanoids, that take on grow-room work. Staff would direct them mostly from the same GrowLabs apps they already use, with Bud planning the jobs.
Why this order
A robot is only as good as what it knows about the room. That means reliable sensor data, clean records and a clear list of what needs doing. Those are the things we build now. Each step reuses the one before it, so the apps growers use today are the base for everything after.
What stays the same
People stay in charge
Guidance supports staff. People decide what gets done and approve the work.
One set of records
Every step writes to the same GrowLabs records, whether a person, Bud or a machine did the job.
Evidence before claims
We will publish results when we have them. Until then, this is a plan.
Earlier robotics concepts
Earlier GrowLabs concept work sketched machines for crop scouting, trimming, harvesting, climate control, fertigation and security patrols. Those designs are parked while we build the software they would run on.
